Thursday, March 27 • The Walt Disney World Bible Study?

Okay, maybe not a bible study at Walt Disney World…but I did stop at Magic Kingdom for dinner on the way home from men’s bible study at my church home in nearby Celebration, since the park was open late enough that I could do so. Greek salad with chicken at Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Café in Tomorrowland.

The Electrical Water Pageant is one of the few shows that goes all the way to Walt Disney World’s opening, debuting on Magic Kingdom’s dedication day, October 25, 1971 (the resort opened on October 1 of the same year). The original theme song of the show was a version of Gershon Kingsley & Jean-Jacques Perrey’s “Baroque Hoedown,” which incidentally became the theme song (in a further modified form) for the Main Street Electrical Parade, which was inspired by the Electrical Water Pageant at Disney World and opened at both Disneyland and Magic Kingdom the following year.
